UFC legend Demetrious Johnson named his best-fighter list but Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov were not included in the top-four.
Johnson, a former flyweight champion, revealed his top four UFC fighters and he placed current heavyweight champion Jon Jones on top of the list.
He went on to place himself on the second, Georges St-Pierre at number three and Anderson Silva at number four.
"For me, to have 11 consecutive title defenses and always look for the finish against my opponents, the list goes on. To be able to go to a different organisation where I’m fighting at 135lb against bigger opponents in a different rule set. I was able to win a world grand prix which is a tournament-style, three fights in one year and then turn around and fight for the belt,” Johnson said on his YouTube channel.
Johnson then went on to explain the decision of putting himself above St-Pierre and Silva as he believes that he could only put Jones over him.
"I go do an IBJJF Brazilian jiu-jitsu tournament. My first time in the gi, brown belt masters at 37 years old and I go out there and I win it. Not one point got scored on me, not any one of those fighters, not even Jon Jones himself would do that and be able to pass with flying colours, so I think the ability for me to be able to transition into different things is what puts me above those guys."
“That [Jones] is the only man that I’ll put ahead of me because this man, I feel like every single time he has been inside the cage he could just destroy his opponent however you want it,” he added.
The 37-year-old’s list came as a surprise to many as a huge portion of UFC fanatics consider Khabib to be the Greatest of All Time (GOAT) because of his impeccable 29-0 record as the Russian bid farewell to the sport in 2020.
On the other hand, McGregor has undoubtedly been the face of the sport due to his heroics. The Irishman is definitely the most popular UFC fighter and the first to hold world titles in two weight divisions simultaneously.
